If you bring liquids in re-useable containers, you will be asked to empty them before entering the festival grounds. A variety of beer, soda and wine will also be for sale.

Camping

What are my camping options?
Camping options have changed from previous years. For up to the minute information, please visit our camping page.

Are vehicles allowed in the tent campground?
Yes.

Are there shower facilities at the campground?
There are no onsite showers, but there are several places in Flagstaff where you can shower for a small fee. Follow this link to a map that locates these businesses.

Is there RV camping?
Please visit our camping page to learn more about RV camping options.

Are fires allowed at the campground?
Campfires are okay, barring any fire restrictions. If there are fire restrictions, you will be notified upon check-in. Campfire rings are available and you may choose to bring your own above-ground fireplace. Campfires must NOT be left unattended. Make sure yours is out before leaving the campground or retiring for the evening.

Contra Dance Events

Why are there no contra dances this year?
While this was a difficult decision to make, the venue used in 2010 for the evening dances, Ashurst Hall on the NAU campus, was not available to us this year. We searched for other acceptable venues around town, but could not find one that would be suitable for a quality dance for a large crowd.

Will there be contra dance events in future years? Before 2010, we held held Pickin' in the Pines dance events on a makeshift floor in the Commercial Building, with difficult acoustics and a less-than aesthetically pleasing space. After the huge improvements that we made last year, the dance organizers felt it would be better not to have a dance at all this year, instead of taking a major step back by trying to host the dance in the Commercial Building.  This is not to say that dancing will not be a part of Pickin' in the Pines in future years. We already have reserved Ashurst Hall for next year and will, once again, have a major dance presence in 2012.
